Book of Galaxy Spectra

These sketches were started when one day in Portland I stumbled upon a box of free books in front of Powell's technical engineering book store. When I open the book it clicked that this was my next sketch book. Filled with nothing but numbers which had no meaning to me I proceeded to sketch over them which added interesting texture to each sketch. The images themselves are turned out to be a collection of odd characters which most often came to life during the sketch process. I usually started with the eyes and let the expression and character follow.
